As a medical cashier, your responsibilities typically include:

Billing and Payment Processing: You will be responsible for accurately calculating and generating invoices for medical services rendered to patients. This includes verifying insurance coverage, calculating deductibles or copayments, and ensuring accurate coding of medical procedures for billing purposes. You will also process payments, handle cash transactions, and manage electronic payment systems.

Insurance Verification: You will verify patients' insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies or using online systems. This involves confirming patient demographics, policy details, and any pre-authorization requirements. It is crucial to ensure accurate and up-to-date information to prevent billing issues and minimize claim rejections.

Patient Financial Counseling: You may assist patients in understanding their medical bills, explaining insurance coverage and payment options, and helping them navigate financial assistance programs if available. This requires good communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with empathy.
